Connect Salesforce to Uplyst

Salesforce records can enter Uplyst through authorised API reads, with supported change events used when ongoing updates are needed. Account, contact, opportunity and case relationships are mapped into a shared customer model alongside ERP, billing and service data.

The Salesforce REST API exposes object records, SOQL queries and object metadata. Available objects, fields and events depend on the organisation's configuration and permissions.

A customer view across systems

Salesforce record IDs and the source organisation identify CRM records. External customer identifiers relate them to contracts, invoices and orders elsewhere in the business. Account hierarchies and record merges are part of that relationship model.

Opportunity stages describe commercial progress. Financial and operational systems contribute recognised revenue, payment status and delivery outcomes, giving teams a fuller account view.

Current records, controlled access.

API permissions and change capture determine which customer information can be connected and how quickly it stays current.

Salesforce identity and permissions

OAuth provides API access for the configured application and integration identity. For REST API reads, object permissions, field access and record visibility determine which customer information that identity can retrieve.

The connection uses the organisation's approved application registration and OAuth flow. Token renewal and credential management support ongoing access without relying on an individual user's interactive session.

Keep customer changes connected

Salesforce Change Data Capture publishes creation, update, deletion and undelete events for supported records. It complements an initial API read and can keep downstream customer context aligned with source changes. Change events do not apply record sharing settings, although field-level access still applies. Subscription permissions and downstream visibility need separate review.

Event availability and retention affect recovery after an interruption. Persisted subscription progress and periodic API reconciliation account for changes that are no longer available in the event stream.

More informed customer conversations

An account team can consider an open service issue, delayed order or unpaid invoice before discussing a renewal. Sales leaders can connect pipeline activity to the operational commitments and customer history behind it.

The shared model preserves the origin of each record, helping sales, service and finance work from the same customer relationships while retaining the distinctions between their business processes.
